Bug Wins a Buckle & Babies Get Better

A few weeks ago, I set a goal to win a buckle. I stopped wearing them all the time many years ago after I got my belt caught over the saddle horn, which resulted in my horse bucking me off really hard! I’ve been getting into shape doing yoga 3-4x/week and riding 3-5 horses per day. Needless to say, some of my pants were fitting quite loose. So I pulled my collection of belts and buckles out of a bin in the back of my closet. I realized that I haven’t won a buckle since 2015…

Time for a new goal. I love opportunities to work on my manifesting. Little did I know it would only be a few short weeks until I was holding my new, beautiful buckle.

When it comes to barrel racing, it can be very overwhelming to navigate which events to go to. Our sport seems to have grown ALOT leading to more and better events with greater payouts. Now that I’m back into the game, I want to go to them all! In the past, I used to use my rational mind (payout, distance, entry cost, etc) to determine where to go. Lately I’ve been using a different method….

My intuition!

I will ask the question, “how balanced and beneficial will it be for me, my horses, and everyone involved for me to attend this event”?

Then I feel into it. When I imagine going, do I sense wholesome vibes? Does it feel light or heavy? Easy or hard? I will even ask on a scale of 1-10 how beneficial and balanced it would be and then sense the number (or use kinesiology testing).

I used this exact technique to decide whether or not to go to the Dixie Classic. It was a big green light GO!!! When I get the “feeling” to go somewhere or do something, I don’t exactly know the reasons why. I just trust.

Sometimes that’s super challenging. Especially when you wake up to SNOW IN ST GEORGE…in March! If you know me, you know how much I love snow.

But I survived and the snow melted fast, thank goodness.  I’m so thankful I trusted despite questioning my intuition. I had an amazing time with my mom and sister. It had been a long time since we all had gotten together. Our family dynamic has been changing quite with our parents getting divorced. I was able to work on some of the ancestral healing that The Road Report had highlighted.

I also progressed with both my 5 year old horses by going to a brand new arena with no exhibitions. An interesting thing is that they had the exact same average time on two runs! Pretty interesting! They both had one really great run and one not so great run. It was nice they did it opposite one another. Seasoning young horses in my opinion, is quite challenging and I’m trying to fall in the love with the process more this time around and not get so emotional about it.

Here’s the Recap of Runs!

Queen (Mulberry on Fire)

This video is Queen’s first run. She always does better her first run, when she doesn’t really know what to expect. I’ve eliminated doing TO’s with her entirely because the best you’re gonna get is the first time through. Once shes seen them, if feels like she tends to overthink everything. She’s funny because she loves routine and the first day I circled her. It’s a pretty funky entrance into the first.  The second day, I decided to eliminate the circle and I couldn’t get her rolling to the first so she has a decent run it was just much slower. She is so timid and afraid to really open up but we’re making progress and I’m excited to watch her gain more confidence!

Skywalker (GB Chico Wood)

And then there’s my little cow pony that could! His personality is much different from Queens. He is very watchy and unsure the first time around. By the second run he gains his confidence! I also rode a lot better and tried to ride further into the turns. He’s super ratey and needs that extra stride into them. He shaved about a second off his first run and that made me very proud.

Bug (Fantastic News)

I’m not surprised that Bug was the one to help me achieve my goal of winning a buckle. We won the 2D Future Fortunes and brought home almost $1500. Kind of sentimental because Dixie Classic was also the first Futurity she ever placed in. She’s the type that knows exactly how and when to cheer me up and give me confidence to succeed. I am so thankful for her!

In conclusion, I am feeling beyond blessed for this entire experience. When you trust the universe and the process, there are no limits to what you can manifest and the amazing experiences that lay waiting for you. Trust yourself and whatever you’re being guided to.

Onward and Upward!
